Over the weekend both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo became the first players in over 80 years to score 43+ league goals in one season in one of Europe's top leagues. Everton's Dixie Dean was the last to do it in 1931-32, netting 45 goals. With 43 goals each and three La Liga games to play, will they both go down in the record book? Messi has a season total of 65 goals, two short of the European record set by Bayern Munich’s Gerd Mueller in 1972-73.
